In less then two weeks of owning our brand new 2008 Honda Odyssey minivan, it (a) was taken back twice to Ourisman Honda for the continuous leaking of Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), (b) had a remote starter system installed and then removed due to Ourisman’s installation of a clearly incompatible aftermarket product, and (c) was brought into another dealership for a thorough re-inspection because of our lack of faith in Ourisman Honda’s service. After 6 days worth of “repairs” at Ourisman’s service department, another dealership came to the conclusion within a few hours that the Odyssey’s transmission issues were *not* fixed, and that the van in fact had major transmission damage (bear in mind, this was a van with well under 200 miles on it). All told, in less then two weeks of ownership, the Odyssey was in for service seven days. After much despair, countless phone calls and letters, and all the aforementioned service visits, Ourisman very grudgingly agreed to replace the van, but only after Hersons and Honda of America also became actively involved in our case.
A day after we took possession of the *new* van, we discovered a dent which had either been missed, or just went undisclosed, by Ourisman Honda. And that almost covers our horrific saga of blatant deceipt and incompetence by Ourisman Honda…
Now fast forward more then two months, and BOTH VINs are still on file in our name at the Maryland MVA. So we're pretty concerned that legal issues may arise for us if the original van is used in a crime, receives parking tickets, etc.
Seriously, I cannot stress it enough - STAY AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY.

pushy sales people

I went in to test drive a car and they pushed me to put down a deposit on one. I did only because it was totally refundable and I could think it over for a few days. I came back and told them I wasn't ready and wanted my money back. They acted like I was breaking up with them and wanted to know why and tried to tell me it was such a great deal and were in general VERY pushy. They made me feel like I was/should be doing them a favor and buy the car. I told them no and left very unhappy that I was almost pushed to buy something that I didn't want. I don't think I'll go back to purchase.

Oursman Honda the worse dealer ever
|

This is the worse experience I ever had purchasing a car in the last 25 years.
The staff is well trained to lie and deceive buyers. Buyer be warned!
Look out for mistakes in the settlement sheet, pricing, interest rate and overall accuracy of the finances. My rate went from 5.25 to 6.25 just a typo right. Take your time reading the documents you sign. The worse part of the experience was getting to the price. They fill out this silly forms and have you sign them.
Not a sales contract, make sure you make them write what they are offering you verbally. They will offer the sun and stars, however when you go the settlement they suddenly forget what the offered.
When purchasing an extended warranty, do you homework before you leave the house.
I checked with various companies and found that Fidelity had the best offer 7 years 100K platinum coverage for $1400.00
Oursman was trying to sell me a $3500. extended warranty with the same coverage. When I showed them my quote, they matched the price.
The whole deal was very confusing and I should have walked away from the dealer and I would have been a very happy customer.

Deceitful or Incompetent? You Decide.

I requested an email quote on a 2008 Honda Odyssey from Ourisman Honda of Laurel through Edmunds.com. I received an email quote from Ourisman Internet specialist Ryan Dunn that had a few different charges and discounts listed. At the end of all these, it displayed an “out the door” price of $28,806 for the model with my requested specs.
I responded to the email saying I was confused by some of the info in the previous email and that I wanted confirmation that $28,806 was indeed an “out the door” price for the model I was looking for. Mr. Dunn responded that it was the out the door price and that he had the model and the color that we wanted.
I then sent another email asking how trade in values were determined. Mr Dunn replied that Ourisman was very competitive in this area and right in line with Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book pricing.
Ryan Dunn was not working the day that I went to the dealership but he had arranged for another sales rep and a sales manager to be ready for me to discuss financing and to put a value to my trade in.
These gentlemen informed me that Mr. Dunn had made math mistakes on my quote. The actual out the door price was $30,867. I told them there must be some mistake because I had questioned the price when it was given to me and Mr. dunn had confirmed it.
They also gave my trade-in a value more than $2000 less than either Edmonds or Kelly’s Blue book gave it in “fair” condition with similar mileage.
So now I was being offered a deal over than $4,000 higher than I had been led to believe it would be. Did they mislead me to get me to the dealership or are they just that clueless? My experience is that no one will write down a price to anything without a manager’s approval, so I suspect that it was some kind of bait and switch from the beginning. Don’t despair, I WAS promised 5 free tanks of gas. It should have been 5 tanker trucks full of gas to make up for the time that I wasted with this dealership.
Ourisman Honda of Laurel is the kind of dealership that makes people dread buying a car!
If you do choose to request a quote from these guys, get the name of the sales manager that approved the price with the stock # of the vehicle that it applies and plan on selling your trade-in yourself.

In shopping for a Civic, I visited a lot of dealers. IMHO, this was by far the worst of them. The employees were friendly enough, but:
(1) Ourisman doesn't list its inventory online - one of the few in the DC area that doesn't do so;
(2) every car on the lot appeared to be loaded with overpriced add-ons such as nitrogen-inflated tires, wheel locks, mud flaps, and pin stripes; and
(3) the BBB gives them an unsatisfactory rating - again, one of only a few in the DC area, and it appears to have happened because they simply didn't respond at all to some complaints!
I can't say what would have happened if I tried to cut a deal with Ourisman, but I had no reason to try doing so. The next dealer I visited not only didn't play these games, but didn't even charge for pin-striping. Who was I going to choose?...

After shopping around for 6 months for the "right" car for our young family, we were pleased to finally buy our car from Ourisman Honda in Bethesda. They gave us time to think it over, weren´t pushy and still stayed interested in assisting us with our big decision. They even stayed after hours a few times to allow us to test drive various models and then allowed us to keep a car overnight to really check it out before buying. We also felt like we got to a very good price for our automobile and they were fair in negotiations. Therefore, for all the above reasons, I highly recommend Ourisman Honda.
